What to expect after you enroll in the UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan

Your MyChart Member Portal

The MyChart member portal is the easy way to manage your plan and your care. You can conveniently view and manage all your plan information, including your member ID; use our treatment cost calculator, and access important plan forms and documents, and more.

With MyChart, you can also customize your communication preferences to suit your needs. Whether you’re receiving electronic plan documents, updates and reminders, you're in control. Set your preferences according to your preferred methods and frequency to easily stay informed.

How do I submit a claim?

You can request a reimbursement by submitting a claim within 12 months for medical claims, and 36 months for prescription drug claims, from the date you received the service, item, or drug.

Are my medications covered?

Our plans offer $0 deductible for prescriptions at retail pharmacies and by mail. There are $0 copays for preferred generic drugs. Plus, if you take eight or more prescriptions for chronic conditions, you may be eligible for Medicare's Therapy Management program, which provides support to help you manage your medications safely.

The Medicare Prescription Payment Plan allows you to make monthly payments for out-of-pocket prescription drug costs. Plus, if you take eight or more prescriptions for chronic conditions, you may be eligible for Medicare's Therapy Management program, which provides support to help you manage your medications safely.

Does my plan include dental, vision, and hearing?

Yes. You can count on comprehensive benefits with UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan, including:

  • Dental with $0 preventive dental copays
  • Vision with $0 eye exams plus a yearly hardware allowance
  • Hearing exams with $0 copays, hearing aid discounts, and an out-of-pocket maximum

Will I have Medicare coverage when I travel?

Yes, in most cases, you’re covered for emergency and urgent care while traveling outside your covered service area. For more information, see Summary of Benefits and Evidence of Coverage.

What is the Medicare Annual Enrollment and when does it happen?

The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. During this time, you can review your Medicare plan and make changes for the upcoming year.

How do I stay on my current plan during Annual Enrollment Period?

  • No action is needed to stay on the current plan and maintain your coverage. You’ll receive a new Member ID Card before your Jan. 1 effective date.
  • If you would like to switch between our Principal Plan with $0 monthly premium, and Prestige Plan with expanded benefits, please contact Member Services. 

How will I know if my plan benefits or costs are changing for the next year?

UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan will send you an Annual Notice of Change by Sept. 30. This document explains any changes to your plan’s benefits, costs, or coverage for the upcoming year. If you have questions, Member Services is always happy to help. 

Will my prescriptions still be covered next year, and how can I check?

The medications covered by our plan can vary from year to year. Please review our current formulary.
