UCLA Health Medicare Advantage Plan is closely monitoring situations that may impact the safety, access to care, and well-being of our members. We are committed to helping ensure members have the information, resources, and support they need during emergencies.

Members can access care and resources during an emergency in the following ways:

  • We are allowing the immediate refill of prescriptions for all members – even if the prescriptions are not due to be refilled. For a list of in-network pharmacies, please visit uclahealthmedicareadvantage.org/pharmacy.
    • Preferred diabetic supplies and lancet devices will continue to be covered. Freestyle and Precision blood glucose monitors and test strips will continue to be covered at $0 copay. Dexcom and Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitors will continue to be covered without a prior authorization at 20% co-insurance. Diabetic supplies from manufacturers not listed above will still require prior authorization.
  • If you have difficulty accessing your providers, you can access virtual, non-emergency medical consultations through Teladoc Health by phone or video, available 24/7. Call 1-800-835-2362 (TTY 711) or visit teladochealth.com
  • Please call your medical group or IPA for assistance with the following:
    • Medical care or urgent care needs
    • Replacement of medical equipment or supplies (oxygen, CPAP, etc.)
    • Locating nearby dialysis centers
    • Out-of-network care: If you are unable to receive medical services from an in-network provider due to a state of emergency or displacement, you may access an out-of-network provider, and services will be covered at the same cost-sharing you would pay in-network.
  • EyeMed Cares offers priority service for members affected by natural disasters. Call 1-866-652-0018 to speak with a representative about available support, including temporary adjustable glasses at no cost and free expedited shipping through Glasses.com and ContactsDirect.com.
  • Other community resources:
    • If you are facing mental health challenges, emotional distress, alcohol or drug use concerns, or just need someone to talk to, please call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 1-800- 273-8255 or by simply dialing 988. This service is free, confidential, and available 24/7.
